Built for demolition and scrap processing, this excavator shear features a HARDOX 500 cutting beak, reversible four-edge blades and a dual pinion slew ring, with two spare blade kits supplied so the consumable is covered from day one.

Features

Hydraulic Shear - Heavy duty and robust

Heavy duty and robust

Heavy-duty steel throughout, with HARDOX 500 TUF in the cutting base, beak, jaw and wear parts. The parts that meet the steel are the hardest parts of the shear.

01
Hydraulic Shear - Durable reversible blades

Durable reversible blades

Each replaceable blade flips and rotates to present four cutting edges before it is changed out. Two spare blade kits are supplied with every shear.

02
Hydraulic Shear - Precise control

Precise control

Continuous 360-degree rotation on an Eaton motor built for the loads an excavator puts through the rotator, so the jaw is turned to the section rather than the machine tracking round to it.

03
Hydraulic Shear - Decreased torsional tension

Decreased torsional tension

Hardened pins, bearings and larger bushes carry the twisting loads of a cut, protecting the main pivot and keeping the blades aligned through heavy sections.

Built to fit the machine you run

Nothing here is an off-the-shelf pattern that you have to make work. Every unit is manufactured to your machine's tonnage, hitch and pin centres, so it bolts up to Caterpillar, Komatsu, Hitachi, Kobelco, Volvo, CASE, Kubota, Yanmar and Takeuchi alike. Send us the make, model and pin sizes and we match the bracket before it ships - if your machine isn't on this list, it still fits.

Rock Breaker & Mud Sieve Buckets

After receiving our first order which had a rock breaker and some mud sieve buckets we knew we'd come back for more, just placed the 3rd order, great service and advice from the sales team, the quality and finish of the attachments are better than I can get locally and a better price.

Mechanical Grab

We bought a mechanical grab for 20T excavator. Good communication during the whole process via email or phone. Good quality product which we haven't had a problem with at all. They also offered to help install when we picked up but was not required. All departments from order to pickup were very helpful.

Hydraulic Grab

The hydraulic grab is better than any Christmas pressi. I use it on my farm dealing with trees and firewood. Also pipe laying. Try lifting 450 dia 12m long HDPE pipe and the grab fits perfect. OK the little Kubota knows it got a big fish on the hook but I can do what I can't do otherwise. Great choice - by me, great product thanks to you.

Hydraulic Grab & Auger

Great company to deal with. Excellent quality hydraulic grab attachment. The company was so nice to deal with I placed another order for a different attachment. Also kept me updated on my order from start to finish. Received my new auger and it is an amazing piece of kit coupled with a 350mm auger and I got the 1m extension also. Had a bit of time to test everything out and the grab is great for moving posts rocks and anything else to save my back. The auger has plenty of torque and because I'm in a bit of rocky ground I got the combination auger and it's busting through it quite well. Still very happy with my order and Aussie Buckets support and after sale check in just to see how everything is going.

Frequently asked questions

What is a hydraulic shear used for? Cutting structural steel, scrap, pipe, tank and vessel work during demolition and metal recycling. A hydraulic shear closes hardened blades through the section rather than crushing it, which gives sized, handleable scrap. Aussie Buckets shears cover 7 to 40 tonne excavators across four builds.
What is the best excavator shear for processing scrap metal? The right shear is the one sized against the heaviest section you regularly cut, measured at the tip rather than the middle of the jaw. Tip and middle cutting force are listed separately across the Aussie Buckets range for that reason. Send your typical and heaviest sections and we will specify against them.
Can you replace the blades on a hydraulic shear? Yes. Blades are reversible through four edges, so each gives four working faces before it is changed out, and two spare blade kits ship with every shear. On scrap work the blades are the consumable, and specifying them as renewable is what keeps the running cost predictable.
What size excavator does a scrap shear need? Four builds cover 7 to 40 tonne machines, with weight from 470 to 3,350 kg, jaw opening, cutting force and flow requirement listed per build. Shear work loads the machine at reach, so lift capacity matters as much as weight. Send your machine details and the material you are processing.
Hydraulic shear or tree shear: which do I need? A hydraulic shear cuts steel and is built for demolition and metal recycling. A tree shear cuts timber and clamps the stem so the tree can be placed under control. They share a name and nothing else, so specify by the material rather than the word.
How much does an excavator shear cost? Aussie Buckets hydraulic shears start at $23,475. Price moves with machine class and cutting capacity, and 0% finance is available on approved purchases. Every shear is protected by a 5-year warranty and lifetime technical support. Get a tailored quote against your machine.
