Built for dense vegetation and tough clearing conditions, this excavator mulcher head features an improved bite limiter rotor, NM500 skid plates and refined cutting geometry for efficient mulching, reduced stalling and a finer finish cut.
Features
Hydraulic hose distribution blocks
Distribution blocks manage flow to the motor and keep the hoses routed clear of the head, so a snag in scrub does not become a burst line and a lost shift.
Rear chain safety guard
A chain curtain across the rear of the head slows and contains mulched material leaving the rotor, for working near roads, fences, crews and machines.
Technical Breakdown
Three build sizes covering 5 tonne to 30 tonne machines, and up to 36 tonne where flow allows. Cutting width, shaft diameter, flow rate and maximum cutting diameter are listed per size.

Hydraulic Grab
The hydraulic grab is better than any Christmas pressi. I use it on my farm dealing with trees and firewood. Also pipe laying. Try lifting 450 dia 12m long HDPE pipe and the grab fits perfect. OK the little Kubota knows it got a big fish on the hook but I can do what I can't do otherwise. Great choice - by me, great product thanks to you.

Hydraulic Grab & Auger
Great company to deal with. Excellent quality hydraulic grab attachment. The company was so nice to deal with I placed another order for a different attachment. Also kept me updated on my order from start to finish. Received my new auger and it is an amazing piece of kit coupled with a 350mm auger and I got the 1m extension also. Had a bit of time to test everything out and the grab is great for moving posts rocks and anything else to save my back. The auger has plenty of torque and because I'm in a bit of rocky ground I got the combination auger and it's busting through it quite well. Still very happy with my order and Aussie Buckets support and after sale check in just to see how everything is going.

What is an excavator mulcher? An excavator mulcher is a hydraulic attachment with a rotating drum of fixed teeth that grinds standing vegetation, saplings and stumps into chip on site. It is also called a forestry mulcher, mulcher head or drum mulcher. Aussie Buckets mulchers cover 5 to 30 tonne excavators across three build sizes.
What size excavator does a mulcher need? Aussie Buckets mulchers cover 5 tonne to 30 tonne excavators across three build sizes, and run on machines up to 36 tonne where hydraulic flow allows. Flow rate matters more than machine weight, so send your auxiliary circuit figures and we will match the head to the circuit.
Do you make a mulcher for a 5 tonne excavator? Yes. The smallest build starts at 5 tonne with a 668 mm cut, provided the auxiliary circuit delivers 60 L/min or more. Flow is the limit on a mulching head, not machine weight, and an undersized circuit will stall the rotor in dense material. Send your flow figures and we will confirm.
What is the difference between a mulcher and a flail mower? A mulcher uses a fixed-tooth drum to grind standing timber and stumps into chip. A flail mower swings hinged blades to cut grass, light scrub and roadside growth. Choose a mulcher for land clearing where timber has to be reduced, a flail mower for maintenance mowing where it does not.
Can an excavator mulcher grind stumps? Yes. The rotor cuts to ground level and below on soft ground, which handles stumps left after clearing. NM500 skid plates take the contact wear so the head can work at grade without damaging the housing, and the chip is left on site rather than carted.
What hydraulic flow does an excavator mulcher need? From 60 L/min on the smallest build to 240 L/min on the largest, at 245 bar, listed per build. Running a head below its rated flow stalls the rotor in dense material, so match the head to the circuit rather than to machine weight alone.
